It is easier to build strong children, than to repair broken adults. Adults are broken as most do not know the values of humanity nor understand about contributing as a human .We teach children that formal school education is their passport to a great career and wealth, but forget to teach them to be Good Human Beings, who contribute to uphold the values of humanity and preserve the nature that we live in.
No day goes by without the news of a young child (teenager) either committing a suicide or killing someone or the news of altercation with a parent or a teacher or a school authority.
WHY have we come to his heart wrenching state of unrest , insecurity and fear as a parent ,as a teacher or as an educator and at large as a society?
WHY is there an underlying restless current and pressure on the young hearts and lives. Sometimes it is either self inflicted due to social conditioning or from parents or from peers or from teachers and school to excel a certain way?
WHY is mental health issues like depression, stress and anxiety a huge portion of a young child’s life and emotional and happiness quotient and carefree gay abandon missing from lives of the youth?
WHY as a society , as apparent ,as a educator we harp about getting marks is a bench mark and status symbol for doing well and getting to next milestone and ,creativity ,sports ,excellence is just another thing that can be pursued on the side but is of no consequence or given the same importance in life of a youth.
WHY we have to lose young children to learn our lessons that we as a society or education system are failing and the need of shift. The need of the hour is to make the inner being o every child strong and tenacious to help him with stand the onslaught of life with panache and grace rather than succumb to the pressures.
There certainly is a glaring gap that the Government of India along with State Governments ,schools and leading corporate to news agencies are talking and fill in with that that one that we need is to build emotional character, moral character and resilient skills with same gusto as the skills to learns Science , Math or the English and EXCEL.
We all see the gap and see the opportunity and most importantly the need for a program likeiVO for every child to unleash his heroic potential and to unfurl that special ability and capability of every child. Time to celebrate the SPECIAL GIFTS and let the HERO IN EACH CHILD SHINE.
The world NEEDS to be kindhearted , happy empathetic place not gruff ,harsh, negatively competitive and non inclusive FOR THE YOUNG. We need children that bloom uniquely with the innate beauty that is within them and we as parents, educators and society need to give them the conducive environ that celebrates each one of them in their distinction which is special and ext25raordinary only then we can expect a world that is calm and happy not restless and agitated.
It’s the need if the hour to and we at iVO see the need for shift in mindsets ,learning curriculum ,pedagogy to be centric to character based inclusion of the content to bring out the Solid Character and Heroic Potential and learn from our real life heroes at REX that how it is beautiful fulfilling possibility.
Never Stop to dream
Falling but sure my wings have power .

iVLSF is a tribute to celebrate the life of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam who had agreed to be our Ivo Mission Ambassador since he loved working with children and here is what he said.
“Jerry, I have a humble request regarding my nomination. I read through the website and trivia booklet to learn more about the criteria for the Karmaveer Puraskaar awards. I agree with Dr. Verghese Kurien that the Karmaveer award is the most credible honour, because of your guiding principles of egalitarianism, simplicity, austerity, fairness and integrity. I have huge respect for Dr. Verghese Kurien, who was a dear friend and your first lifetime achievement award recipient. Therefore, I feel, that I need to do more in my personal capacity, to deserve the lifetime achievement award which all of you have nominated me for. I would therefore request you to kindly accept my regrets, since I would not like to accept the lifetime achievement award at this time. Let me do more to serve the nation and society. Let me begin add value as your chief believer and ambassador to promote the International Volunteering Olympiad. Once I have done that, I shall consider myself to be more worthy and deserving for the lifetime achievement award.”

Certificates and Badges of Honour
YellowHeart Badge of Honour – For all students who participate from Class 2-11. (suggested by Aditi Misra of DPS)
GreenHeart Badge of Honour – For 4 students chosen in each class (2 male, 2 female) chosen by class teachers.
WhiteHeart Badge of Honour – For 6 students in each form (chosen by council of class teachers)
Saffron Heart Badge of Honour – For 2 children chosen from each form at school level. (Chosen by school committee with teachers from across forms)
PurpleHeart Badge of Honour – 8 students from overall school (Chosen by School Committee)
TricolorHeart Badge of Honour- 4 students from each school (chosen by iVLSF presented at Karmaveer Bhoomi annual cultural event)
Rex Karmaveer Global Fellowship with Karmaveer Chakra Bronze Medal – 2 students from each school given an opportunity to attend fellowship and THiME (The Hero In Me week workshop) with Team iVLSF.
The Parents of the 100 top performing Students shall be chosen for the Rex Karmaveer Global fellowships and Karmaveer Chakra Bronze award for the guidance and encouragement given to the children.
The Teachers who inspired and motivated the top 100 students shall be chosen for the Rex Karmaveer Global fellowships and Karmaveer Chakra Silver awards.
The Principals and Vice Principals who inspired and motivated the top 100 students of their schools shall be chosen for the Rex Karmaveer Global fellowships and Karmaveer Chakra Gold awards.
All Participating schools shall be given the Karmaveer Chakra silver plaque.
All schools shall be given citations of appreciation and recognition as Karmaveer Champions of Change Schools.
The schools from where the top 100 students are chosen for the International level awards shall be given the annual Karmaveer Chakra gold plaque.
All Teachers shall be given certificates of honour and the Red-Heart Karmaveer Chakra Badge of honour in school.
All Teachers whose students are chosen for the state level awards shall be given certificates of honour and the Tri-Colour Karmaveer Chakra Badge of Honour at the Karmaveer Bhoomi event.
Planning a huge gathering of 10-25,000 + children, youth and citizens at large to come together and pledge “I Change to Change India” by practicing human values and fulfilling my fundamental duties in order to enjoy my fundamental rights. We want to make this a nationwide movement with events happening in each state/ city. Held every 26/11 to celebrate the day our constitution was adopted Constitution as the Citizen Action Pledge Day- PLEDGE – I CHANGE TO CHANGE INDIA
THiME is for the selected few students from Class 8-11 who will be chosen for a week-long experiential learning program.
This is by invitation only and the students who excel will be chosen for this program that will be a holistic immersion in the moJOsh Inspirator learning to understand the purpose of life and create life goals for the students.
This will be held in a secure camp and would involve Motivational Speeches by Real Heroes, Video Based learning, physical exercises, yoga and other experiential and inspirational learning activities. This learning will be a lifelong memory and gift for the students.
We are embarking on a mission to teach moJOsh powers to children which would enable them to be self-dependent and disciplined by asking themselves the following.

Would I need validation from outside if I truly have given it my best. Do I ask myself have I given whatever I do my best or am I just happy DOING what needs to be done.
Do I truly focus on Prior Proper Planning Preparation to Prevent Poor Performance or do I things with a LACKADAISCAL attitude and mindset.
Am I taking feedback and acting on it for continuous improvement or am I always defensive which hampers my improvement?
Do I do things of my own initiative or do I wait for others to tell me to do things!
Have I truly understood and imbibed the spirit and core of what I am learning and doing or AM I superficial and just doing it to pass and go to the next class.
Am I truly cultivating the soul for self-learning and being proactive or am I always reactive and waiting for someone else to show me how to learn?
