The first REX Karmveer forum and Karmaveer Puraskaar awards to felicitate and recognize Citizen Heroes is now ready for launch. It is decided to create the most unique egalitarian and inclusive forum in the world, we will practice a strictly NO- VIP CULTURE.

At REX Karmaveer events, everyone be it a Minister, Priest, Teacher, Janitor, Municipal Sweeper, Slum Dweller, Sex-worker, Captain of Industry, Corporate Executives, UN leaders or anyone, will be treated with SAME AND EQUAL RESPECT.

It is also decided, that at REX Karmaveer a we shall always sustain a culture of simplicity, austerity and LEARNING through Wisdom-Transfer, Knowledge-Sharing and SECULAR CULTURETAINMENT.

IMPACT & OUTCOME

REX Karmaveer has inspired several forums and award in India and around the world (JOSH Talks, The Shift, Times Social Impact awards, Speaking Tree Good Karma awards, CNN Real Heroes, and several knowledge forums like Integrity Index, Environmental conversations etc. by the UN. Several Newspapers and Magazines like TOI, HT, People Magazine etc. are also inspired to create special columns on real heroes and iDishoom.com has inspired several portals around the world to highlight stories of Real Heroes and encourage people to stand-up and speak-out), to focus on social impact with stories of Real Heroes and Ordinary People who are performing extraordinary deeds.

Richard Saul Wurman founder of TED endorsed REX and says this is what his original intent for TED was when he founded it in 1984, to promote conversations in an informal, austere, dignified and inclusive learning environment.

When I started TED in 1984, the idea was to create conversations, camaraderie and collaborations of Real People, who like sharing their ideas. What TED has become today, is a sponsorship engine, which is pretentious, elitist and appalling. Now, speakers read out from Teleprompters and cannot speak their mind or real ideas, due to sponsor influenced censorship. I am glad to see that the founders of REX have created a conversation, not just of exclusive speakers, but an inclusive gathering of Real People and Ordinary Heroes, who stand for righteousness and doing right. I have observed that People can speak from their heart at REX and have the right of Free-Speech, without any censorship. REX has a grand vision and is become much bigger and better, than what I had intended TED to be originally. REX is the most unique knowledge forum globally, where one can go on a true journey from NOT KNOWING to WISDOM and AWARENESS. It is meaningful, mindful, engaging, energizing, entertaining and most of all it is a great learning experience, with people from all walks of life sharing ideas for action. The original TED conference wasn’t rehearsed, planned, edited or scripted; there were no long introductions or a dress code. What you saw on videotape is exactly how it happened live, and the conference was magical. REX is everything I wanted TED to be and the founders of REX have truly created what my original idea of TED was. At TED, When a speech was boring, or it went too long, I would get up and very quietly walk over and stand behind the person. At REX, the founder Jerry Almeida does something even better. True to his nature, he literally blows the whistle and this adds to the fun and charm of the overall learning experience.

Original Founder of TED before he sold it in 2002. He is a REX enthusiast and mentor and has been supporting us to stay on the path for creating engaging, energising conversations and learning at REX.

From the beginning of the REX Karmaveer forum in 2003, our Facilitator & Founder, Jeroninio (Jerry) Almeida dreamt of for building an egalitarian platform. Here concerned citizens from all walks of life will get a stage to interact with each other without any disparity and can candidly present their thoughts & ideas for action.

However, he was concerned after the first few events and the sponsors demands, that in the glory of hosting a social event in a 5-star hotel, the real value of egalitarianism, austerity and simplicity would get lost. Jerry believed that it was important to ensure participation from grassroots & marginalized communities. Thus our REX Karmaveer events will never be held in opulent venues to sustain our values and guiding principles.

The big idea to create REX Karmaveer as the ONE and ONLY EGALITARIAN PLATFORM struck the founders of iCONGO after they organized these 3 high profile conferences. The need was and is to create thought leadership for socio-political awareness and involve real people in the process of change, for the greater public good of one and all.

REX Karmaveer is the first KNOWLEDGE FORUM in India that focuses on discussions of social issues & impact and was christened initially as the RIGHT every WRONG conclave.

The REX CONCLiVE also has the Karmaveer Puraskaar – Global awards for social justice & citizen action as an integral part of the proceedings.

Over the past few years, various knowledge forums have been organized with participation by thought leaders from all walks of life and from across the globe under the aegis of the RIGHT every WRONG CONCLAVE which is now called the REX CONCLiVE.

REX CONCLiVE is the rechristened scaled up avatar of the RIGHT every WRONG conclave. which was conceived, created and led by the founders of iCONGO- International Confederation of NGOs from 2003.

From 2012, REX CONCLiVE has become a public event (strictly by Invitation only to ensure that the tribe sustains a gathering of ethical, like minded social responsible people) and besides being an on ground LIVE event, has also become a virtual online LIVE event where the REX CONCLiVE ROCKSTAR SPEECHES, reach out to over 15 million subscribers of iCONGO and REX Karmaveer community, across the world.

REX is the Asian equivalent designed on the lines of what TED was originally intended to be by the TED Founder Richard Saul Wurman, who is our inspiration and mentor.

REX Karmaveer movement, is based on the Eastern Ethos and blended with best of Western wisdom of sharing progressive & traditional wisdom to churn “KINGSIZE Thought Leadership for Change”.

REX Karmaveer movement, only promotes ideas that are functional, sustainable, scalable, replicable and repeatable like the ideas that have led to change through the REX Karmaveer forum from 2003.
